Mountbatten Isle of Wight is inviting Islanders to remember and celebrate loved ones by dedicating a light on its remembrance tree over this festive period.

Dedicating a light is simple

From Saturday (November 1) visit mountbatten.org.uk/2025light to donate and dedicate a light online.

Your loved one’s light will shine on Mountbatten’s remembrance tree and be added to the virtual tree, with their name displayed during the Light up a Life event at Mountbatten on Sunday, 7 December at 4pm.

Brian Rayner, who is dedicating lights in memory of his wife and daughter — both cared for by Mountbatten’s teams — shared:

“After my daughter, Nikki, and then my wife, Jan, died, I was in a very dark place.
"It was Mountbatten’s bereavement support that got me back on my feet and helped me feel less lonely.
“That’s why, this Christmas, I’m dedicating a light on Mountbatten’s remembrance tree to my Nikki and Janet, and donating to give back to the charity that has given me and my family so much love and care.”

Every donation helps Mountbatten provide expert care and support to more than 2,300 people across the Island on any one day.
