Charlton House Residents Relish Day Of Ice Cream, Live Music And Sunshine

Residents at Cowes' Old Charlton House Residential Home have enjoyed a day of sweet treats and meet and greets.

It began with Scoops, the Ice Cream Van, paying the home a visit and asking residents to choose their favourite flavour and toppings or flakes.

Making the most of the glorious sunshine, residents enjoyed sitting out in the garden sipping a cheeky Pimm's, complete with full fruit salad.

They were entertained by the Havenstreet Ukelele Group while outside.

Resident and Centenarian, Vera, said:

“It has been wonderful sitting out here, it’s so peaceful and we have a magnificent view of the sea - I do love a Pimm's!"

Residents later indulged in a Chinese takeaway from the Golden Dragon in Cowes.

Debbie Webb, Activity Coordinator, said:

“I love watching their smiles appear and I’m extremely privileged to be able to share these special moments with our residents.

"It’s the little things that make all the difference in their lives”.
