Annual Chillerton And Gatcombe Scarecrow Festival Taking Place This Weekend

The award-winning Chillerton & Gatcombe Scarecrow Festival returns this Saturday (May 25) through to June 1.

Up to 100 scarecrows will be visible on the trail throughout the villages of Chillerton and Gatcombe.

There will once again be a people’s vote for the most popular scarecrow, so a chance to participate in the Island’s quirkiest festival.

Scarecrow maps will be available from the Village Hall and Gallybagger Inn.

Aunt Sally’s Tearoom will be open each day for a cup o’ tea an’ a slice o’ cake from 11am to 4pm for refreshments and snacks.

The Gallybagger Inn will also open Saturday May 25, Sunday May 26 and Saturday June 1 from midday to 4pm with live music acts each day.

It will also be open evenings from 7pm on both Saturdays, Monday, Thursday (Folk night) and Friday (Bingo).
