Pizza Pinwheels

Serve up delicious Pizza Pinwheels at home this Firework Night, to remember remember the 5th of November in your own way. We may not be out at our favourite firework displays as usual, but we can certainly put on a spread to enjoy with the family, starting with these delicious bitesize treats. Makes 16 pinwheels Takes 25 mins to cook and prepare

Ingredients

  • 225g (8oz) plain flour, plus extra to dust

  • 100g butter or margarine, diced

  • 3 tbsp tomato puree

  • 40g grated cheese

  • 1 beaten egg

Method

  • Sift the flour into a large bowl before rubbing in the butter with your fingertips. You are looking for a breadcrumb consistency.
  • Add three tablespoons of water and start to form the mixture into a dough.

  • Knead on a worktop lightly dusted with flour, and then wrap in clingfilm and chill in the fridge for half an hour.

  • Roll out your dough into a rectangle, about the size of an A4 sheet of paper.

  • Spread with tomato puree and sprinkle with cheese. Feel free to add any other ingredients you wish at this point too.

  • Roll from one end to the other (starting from one of the shorter ends) and then use a sharp knife to cut into 16 equal slices.

  • Lay flat, brush with the beaten egg and cook in the oven, on gas mark 6 for approximately 15 minutes.

  • Serve and enjoy!
