Vectis Radio is calling on local charities, community organisations, and individuals to celebrate their amazing work at the fourth annual Isle of Wight Community Awards.

The ceremony will return to Caffe Isola in Newport on Friday 27 March 2026, offering a chance for island-based groups and people to be publicly recognised for their contributions to the community.

This year’s awards feature a range of categories, updated based on feedback from last year’s event:

  • Community Project of the Year

  • Village Hero Award

  • Sports Coach/Leader of the Year

  • Animal Impact Award

  • Young Person of the Year (Under 18)

  • Fundraising Award

  • Volunteer of the Year

  • Island School/Club Achievement

  • Good Neighbour of the Year

  • Overall Champion Award (decided by public vote)

Event organiser Maggie Currie said:

“The categories have been revised following feedback from our successful 2025 event.
"For the Overall Champion Award, judges will select four finalists to be announced ahead of the ceremony and voted on by the public.
"More than ever, community organisations are working on tight budgets, so we’ve kept entries free and ticket prices low, thanks to the generosity of the team at Caffe Isola.”

Vectis Radio Station Manager Ian Mac added:

“Since 2010, Vectis Radio has been proud to support the island community.
"These awards are a chance to recognise the incredible work done solely for the benefit of island residents.
"I am truly humbled by the effort made by some organisations and individuals.”

Applications are open to any Isle of Wight-based charity, individual, or non-profit organisation.

Entries must be submitted by midnight on 30 January 2026.

Application forms can be requested by emailing awards@vectisradio.fm, specifying which category or categories you wish to apply for.

Details about tickets and the awards ceremony will be announced closer to the event.
