A new community-led campaign has been launched to save the Daisy Bus, a vital service that helps Isle of Wight cancer patients travel to the mainland for treatment.

The service is at risk of stopping next week unless urgent funding is secured.

The Save the Daisy Bus Appeal has been set up with support from the Island’s Umbrella Cancer Group and other local organisations.

Michele Newton has been appointed chair of the appeal and is leading efforts to raise funds, recruit volunteers, and develop a long-term plan to keep the bus running.

“For many cancer patients on the Island, the Daisy Bus is more than just transport – it’s a lifeline,” said Michele.
“It offers dignity, reliability, and peace of mind during some of the hardest times. We are determined not to let this service disappear.”

The appeal has also received backing from the Isle of Wight’s two MPs, Richard Quigley and Joe Robertson, who are urging locals to help keep the bus on the road.

The campaign is seeking donations, volunteer drivers, fundraisers, and anyone able to contribute time or expertise.

Every contribution helps ensure that no Islander has to worry about getting to vital treatment on the mainland.

To donate or get involved, visit the campaign’s GoFundMe page, email savethedaisybus@gmail.com, or follow Save the Daisy Bus on Facebook for updates.
