RSPCA Isle of Wight has appointed Maggie Lloyd as its new Chair of Trustees.
Maggie brings more than 35 years’ experience as a veterinary surgeon, with a strong background in animal welfare and clinical care.
In her new role, she will work alongside the Board of Trustees and senior leadership team to help shape the charity’s strategic direction and support its work across the Island.
Speaking about her appointment, Maggie said she was “truly honoured” to take on the position, adding that the organisation makes a real difference to vulnerable animals every year.
She said she looks forward to working with staff, volunteers and supporters to ensure animals continue to receive the care and compassion they deserve.
Branch Director Steve Backhouse welcomed the appointment, describing Maggie’s experience and passion for animal welfare as a major asset as the charity moves into its next chapter.
Founded in the 1950s, RSPCA Isle of Wight is an independent charity supporting the national RSPCA locally.
It provides rescue, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming or release to the wild, with all funds raised on the Island supporting the Island Animal Centre near Rookley.
