Saturday (26 July) saw Proms ’25 deliver an unforgettable evening of music, magic and community spirit to Robin Hill.

The event raised money for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Accomplished soprano Thea Callaghan opened the evening, captivating the audience with her rich and elegant vocals.

Medina Community Choir delivered a heartfelt and vibrant performance that highlighted the depth of their vocal talent and drew the audience into every note.

As the sun began to set, anticipation peaked with the arrival of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, led by Enyi Okpara.

Orchestra highlights included Williams’ Jurassic Park theme and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance No.1.

The audience was treated to an epic finale as Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture echoed through the valley, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky – a true symphony of sound and colour.

A total of £5,442.98 was raised on the night for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

The hospice charity’s dedicated team excelled in their fundraising efforts, selling enough flashing sunflower headbands to light up the entire valley.

“After a really successful evening, the team behind Proms ’25 would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous contribution from our supporters," said Paul Cox, Event Director.
"Particular thanks must go to Robin Hill for stepping up with a fantastic venue and to our sponsor Red Funnel for the in-kind travel they provided to ensure everyone from the orchestra through to our stage build team made it to the Island safely.
"And of course, a huge thank you to our wonderful audience who fully embraced the Proms experience, created the most incredible atmosphere and showed unwavering support for the hospice.
"We can’t wait to come back bigger and better next year!”
