Isle Of Wight’s Ugly Ozo Releases New Single

Isle of Wight musician ugly ozo has released her first single since signing to a new record label.

onto a winner is out now and available to stream online.

It was released by REX RECS, the label ugly ozo  - the stage name of Jess Baker - became the first act to sign to last month.

REX RECS was started by Macks Faulkron, a producer who has worked with Grammy and Mercury Prize nominated acts including Caroline Polachek.

ugly ozo’s newest single was written from the perspective of someone set on changing themselves to fit into someone else’s ideal.

Speaking about the song, Jess said:

“onto a winner was written at a time when my self esteem was super low, and I could feel how badly everything I was being fed online was affecting that.”

Joining Jess on the track are her sister Boo Baker on bass and drummer Tristan Northard.

Later this year, ugly ozo will perform at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, on a bill with Wine Lips.

Already in 2025, ugly ozo has performed at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival and Southampton’s Wanderlust Festival.
