St James Street will be closed from 6.30pm until 11pm on Wednesday 17 March between South Street and Pyle Street for the replacement of a sewer manhole and frame and cover by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. The one way restrictions in; Pyle Street (from St James Square) and in St James Street (from South Street to Pyle Street) will be temporarily suspended to allow access. Access to Pyle Street (from St James Square to Carisbrooke Road and from St James Square to Town Lane) to St James Street,St Jameas Square and Scarrots Lane will be maintained from the Carisbrooke Road direction, during the works. Public Footpath V124 (The Undercliff) will remain closed until approximately Monday 21 November 2011 between A3055 Undercliff Drive and Public Footpath V99 due to a landslip. DIVERSION ROUTE: A3055 Undercliff Drive. The closure has been further extended from Saturday 21 November 2009 following approval by the Secretary of State for Transport).

Public Footpath V90 will be closed until approx Sunday 12 December 2010 between Public Footpath V91 to a point 300 metres to the east (the Ventnor direction). The closure is due to land movement/erosion. DIVESION ROUTE: On adjacent paths in the Botanical Gardens. (The closure has been further extended from Friday 12 December 2009 following approval by the Secretary of State for Transport).

Public Footpath V114A will be closed from St Albans Road to Gills Cliff Road between 2pm on Wednesday 21 October 2009 until approx 2pm on Tuesday 11 May 2010 until repair works have been undertaken to a retaining wall. DIVERSION ROUTE: St Albans Road, Zig Zag Road, Gills Cliff Road and Gills Cliff Road.

Southgrove Road will be closed from B3327 Mitchell Avenue to Grove Road from 3pm on Thursday 1 December for the foreseeable future. The road is physically closed to vehicles from approx 175metres (Macrocarpa House) to 220metres (Montrees) to the southeast of Grove Road/Mitchell Avenue. Full pedestrian access will be available.
