Downend Road junction with Mersley Down Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 1 February until Friday 9 April 2010 for carriageway widening works in connection with the installation of new traffic lights by Williams Associates for the Isle of Wight Council. Considerable traffic delays are likely to occur especially at peak times. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route if possible. Public Byway SW 56 will be closed to vehicles from Kingston Road to Atherfield Road between 9am on Monday 7 December 2009 until 4pm on Wednesday 31 March 2010 as the path is not suitable for vehicular traffic. Coastal Public Footpath BB10 will be closed from Public Footpath BB13 (at Forelands Field) to Public Footpath BB14 (at High Ridge) between 9am on Wednesday 13 January and Friday 29 July 2010, due to erosion/ cliff subsidence. Strawberry Lane will be closed in the intersts of road safety from B3399 Brighstone Road (near to Mottistone) to Lynch Lane between 8am and 6pm on Sunday 28 March 2010 to enable a Memorial Ploughing Match organised by The Isle of Wight Traction Engine Club to take place near to Strawberry Lane. A3055 Military Road (at layby on Compton/Freshwater side of Brook Chine car park). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 23 February for the foreseeable future due to the close proximity of the cliff edge to the Military Road. B3401 Freshwater Road is now open to traffic between Elm Lane (at Calbourne Crossroads) and Newbridge junction following the completion of urgent carriageway repair works by Bardon Contracting for the Isle of Wight Council. The road was closed from 9am on Monday 8 until 10am on Tuesday 16 March 2010.

Public Byway SW41/C 32A will be closed (from Beckfield Cross to Appleford Road) between 9am on Monday 7 December 2009 and 4pm on Wednesday 31 March 2010 as the path is not suitable for vehicular traffic. DIVERSION ROUTE: B3330 Emmett Hill, Town Lane and Appleford Road

Public Footpath C34 Whale Chine will remain closed until approximately Monday 21 November 2011 between a point 170 metres south of A3055 Military Road to the beach due to a landslip. Berry Lane will be closed from Berry Shute to Roslin Lane for the renewal of overhead cables for British Telecom. The works are located outside and adjacent to Ramsdown Farm and the road should only be closed from 8am until 5pm on each day. Route 23 Cycle Track will be closed to horses, cyclists and pedestrians from Public Bridleway NC53 to Langbridge (road) between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday 31 March 2010, for the replacement of a valve on a water main by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. A3020 Parkhurst Road (near to St Marys Hospital, opp Albany Prison). Furrlongs will be closed between 6pm on Tuesday 26 January and approximately 6pm on Wednesday 30 June 2010 from A3020 St Georges Way to Pan Lane in the interests of road safety until major carriageway repair works have been completed by an Isle of Wight Council Contractor. Access to premises will be maintained as far as possible during the works. DIVERSION ROUTE: THROUGH TRAFFIC: Pan Lane, Burnt House Lane, Burnt House Lane Link Road, A3020 St Georges Way, Coppins Bridge Roundabout, Snooks Hill, Staplers Road and Furrlongs. York Road will be closed (weather and other circumstances permitting) from 8am until approx 5pm on Sunday 21 March 2010 between York Road Car Park and The High Street for the installation of equipment into the Somerfield Store by Island Crane Hire. The one way restriction in York Road (from York Road Car Park and High Street) and in Town Lane will be temporarily suspended to allow access during the closure. If bad weather or other circumstances prevents the works from being undertaken at the above times, the works will be undertaken from 8am until 5pm on Sunday 28 March 2010. Public Footpath SS73 (Osborne Steps) will be closed to pedestrians between the Esplanade and Osborne Road from 9am until 4pm on each day from Monday 8 March until Thursday 11 March for tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting for the Isle of Wight Council. B3330 Carpenters Road/Upper Green Road (various locations from Beaper Shute to Station Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 8 March until 4pm on Friday 12 March 2010 for carriageway repairs by Mountjoy Construction for the Isle of Wight Council. Traffic delays will occur.

Public Footpath V90 will be closed until approx Sunday 12 December 2010 between Public Footpath V91 to a point 300 metres to the east (the Ventnor direction). The closure is due to land movement/erosion. DIVESION ROUTE: On adjacent paths in the Botanical Gardens. Southgrove Road will be closed from B3327 Mitchell Avenue to Grove Road from 3pm on Thursday 1 December until approx 4pm on Wednesday 30 June 2010. The road is physically closed to vehicles from approx 175metres (Macrocarpa House) to 220metres (Montrees) to the southeast of Grove Road/Mitchell Avenue. Full pedestrian access will be available.
