The vicar of Newport has been appointed Chaplain to the Queen.
Canon Stephen Palmer is vicar of both Newport Minster and St John’s Church in Newport. He has become one of 36 chaplains who preach once a year, usually in the Queen's Chapel at St James's Palace in Windsor. He will be formally presented to the Queen before the royal garden party on 22nd July.
