Island sailor Brian Thompson is back on dry land, after almost 100 days at sea.
He’s completed the gruelling Vendee Globe challenge, in which competitors sail single-handed non-stop around the world. His boat Bahrain Team Pindar sailed home skippered by on the 7th British sailor to complete the course. The Northwood resident finished fifth, having sailed 28,699.8 nautical miles. He was met by wife Nathalie and their two young children.
