Two men were charged by police on October 22, 2009 with engaging in a commercial practice which was misleading, and failing to notify a consumer of their right to cancel a contract, after a joint investigation with Isle of Wight Council’s Trading Standards Service into suspected rogue traders.
William Alfred Joseph MITCHELL, age 21, of Old Shoreham Road, Lancing, West Sussex, and David Digger KEET, age 24, of Long Road, Soberton, Southampton, Hampshire, were both bailed to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
The charges follow a combined investigation involving Isle of Wight Council’s Trading Standards Service, Hampshire Constabulary’s Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit (RPU), CID, Intelligence Unit, Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT), and West Wight Safer Neighbourhoods team (SNT).
