On Saturday 15th August, ten people from Downton Baptist Church near Salisbury in Wiltshire conducted a giant litter pick across the Isle of Wight to raise money and awareness for a charity who help children living on a rubbish dump in the Philippines.
In perfect weather, they set off from Bembridge at 7.30am, following the Bembridge and Tennyson trails, completing the trek at the Needles just before 7pm in the evening. Along the way, they covered almost 30 miles, after getting slightly lost, picked up 12 bin liners of litter and accumulated 33 blisters!
Nearly £1500 has been raised so far for the Philippines Community Fund, bringing the total raised by the church this year to over £10,000.

The group would lie to thank Ryde Baptist Church who hosted the group whilst on the island.
