Geoff Hughes opens Island event
After months of preparation, today saw the opening of the Islands first complete business event, Business Expo 09.
Geoff Hughes opened the days proceedings at the Isle of Wight College with an uplifting speach urging Island businesses to support each other in these challenging times. This free to attend exhibition was open to the public from 10am until 6pm and was busy throughout the day.
Businesses large and small are represented at the show offering free advice and the chance to meet key business people from the Island business community. You could find out how to get a free grant for start-up businesses.
The event runs again tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am - 6pm with free seminars, workshops, prize draws, speed networking and over 50 exhibitors. Food and drink are available throughout the day and there is live entertainment planned for lunchtime.
The free creche (including face painting) for 2-6 year olds, provided by the Island Day Nursery, will run from 11am - 4pm so that visitors with children can freely attend seminars etc.
