SOLENT TRAVEL PRICE INQUIRY CONTINUES

The Interim Managing Director of Red Funnel James Cooper; and the Chief Executive of Hovertravel Ian May, along with the firm’s Financial Director Peter White and Director Richard Box, are due to give evidence to the IW Council’s policy commission investigation into the cost of cross-Solent travel services.

Wightlink chief executive Andrew Willson has already given evidence to the inquiry.  MP Andrew Turner and representatives from the IW branch of the National Farmers Union, the IW Youth Council and the IW Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry are also expected to attend.  The inquiry is examining the concerns shared by residents and businesses – particularly those in the tourism and agricultural sectors – about the cost of crossing the Solent.  The policy commission meeting will be held in Committee Room One, County Hall, Newport, starting at 6pm on Wednesday January 7.
