SMALLEST SCHOOL TO CLOSE

In a final last ditch attempt to save Chale School, parents and governor’s are handing in a Final response letter for David Pugh tomorrow when it opens at 8am.

Having met all the requirements put forward from the council, the council has now moved the goal posts, which will mean closure for the small school.

Alan Lock, Chair of Governor’s said “The reality is that they have not actually made a single concession in the 2 years we have been fighting closure. They are still using the tired arguments of 2 years ago and have not listened to a single thing we have put forward.”

This is the final chance are a long fight including a petition to the houses of parliament backed by Andrew Turner MP.

Chale school is one of the oldest on the Isle of Wight has recently celebrated 165 year of education in the same building, and has been awarded a community award by Alan Titchmarsh former High Sheriff for its outstanding activities in the community.
It currently has 25 pupils.
