Hampshire Constabulary’s running a new campaign to recruit more volunteers. A series of recruitment roadshows is taking place across the Island this year, to promote how members of the public can work alongside local police teams.
Special constables work as police officers in the same roles, from patrolling neighbourhoods to responding to emergency calls. Police support volunteers cover everything from administration support to victim contact work, giving a better service to the Island. The first roadshow takes place in St. James’ Square in Newport between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Wednesday 9 June. For more information go to
