After thirty years on the frontline, a long-serving Isle of Wight police officer will retire today.
PC Tony Witt joined the force in 1978, in Hythe in the New Forest, where he was stationed for the first nine years of his career. He moved to the Isle of Wight in 1987 and has been based at Ryde Police Station for more than 20 years. During his career, he has received a Chief Constable's commendation and an award from the RSPCA.
