Mentor-net, a brand new, low-cost business mentoring scheme for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight based businesses launched today.
The Mentor-net scheme, provided by Southern Enterprise Alliance (SEA) matches experienced organisational leaders as mentors with business owners. The aim of Mentor-net is to support the owners of small and medium sized businesses, so that they can develop the skills and knowledge needed to help their businesses survive, grow and prosper.
Mentor-net Programme Manager, Rachel Cheetham said, “Business mentoring is often likened to ‘having a friend in business, someone who has been there, done that’, and now wants to help others learn from their own enterprise experiences. Our knowledgeable mentors have a wealth of experience to share with local entrepreneurs, encouraging them to develop the skills they need to help their businesses survive, grow and prosper. Mentor-net is a welcome addition to the business support available in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.”
Jacky Stevens OBE, Chief Executive of SEA describes the original idea for the Mentor-net scheme, “Our members are mostly drawn from the local business community and organisations that support local businesses, so who better to understand the pressures and demands the owners of SMEs are currently facing and suggest solutions?”
