A Newport woman has challenged herself to skydive 10,000 feet, in memory of her husband.

Lisa Burt is planning to raise money for the Earl Moutbatten Hospice, which cared for her husband Ronnie before he died.  The jump will take place at Salisbury Airfield on 2 August. Lisa tells the IW Beacon Online that she will receive a certificate of completion on landing.  She says, “I’m also hoping to arrange some photos to look back on too because I’m definitely only doing this once!”.  Lisa, who is Parkhurst Prison’s Appeals Officer, says “I’d like to do something positive on the anniversary of Ronnie’s death and gain as much money as I can in sponsorship for the hospice – our hospice has to raise £2million a year to run”.
