HAVE YOU GOT THE WEST WIGHT FACTOR?

Young visitors to the 2009 Big Day Out could be winners if they demonstrate they have the 'WW' Factor.

As part of the Big Day Out, which takes place on Sunday 11 October at West Wight Sports Centre in Freshwater, a talent contest has been organised for anyone up to the age of 19.

There are two age categories - under 12s and 13 - 19. The criteria is simple - if you have a talent, show it off to the judges and you could take home a cash prize of up to £100.

Anyone interested in taking part are asked to register their details with Leanne Godley before 9 October at leanne.godley@iow.gov.uk or via phone on (01983) 525927. Anyone taking part must confirm their participation in the main arena before 12pm on the day.

Although the event is totally free, everyone attending will require a ticket. These are available from all public libraries, children's centres and youth centres.

Members of the public are advised to collect tickets early to avoid disappointment. One ticket is required per person.

Free bus travel has been arranged via Wightbus to and from the event from around the Island and a free park and ride is available at the Apple Tree Café, Afton Farm, Newport Road, Freshwater. Disabled parking is available on site. Bus travel must be booked through local libraries and information on timetables can also be found at libraries.
