Sandown CE Primary has formally opened a sensory garden, in the grounds of its nursery school.
The project was launched in October 2007, with the help of volunteers for the Island’s Green Gym eco project. An Awards for All grant has funded much of the scheme, alongside donations from Island based businesses and organisations. The creative forces behind the garden included scenic artists Eccleston George, who worked with the children, staff and parents. School staff are planning to grow fruit and vegetables, as well as plants, trees and shrubs.
