Police are renewing an appeal for information after a suspected arson in Lake on the Isle of Wight.
Officers were called to a block of flats in Lake Green Road between 9.00pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service extinguished flames, which had damaged a shed at the front of one flat.
No one was inside this flat at the time.
A neighbour was taken to hospital to be treated for the effects of breathing smoke.
The block of flats received smoke damage.
Investigating officer, PC Mark Radford of the Isle of Wight’s Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT), said: “This fire could have had life threatening consequences if more people had been inside the block of flats at the time.
“Numerous house-to-house enquiries have been carried out, but there are still some local residents who we have not been able to contact.
“I’m appealing for anyone who lives in the Lake Green Road area to get in touch if you have not spoken to the police yet. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have information about suspicious activity in this community on the evening of December 8.
