COUNCIL HELP FOR ISLAND CHILDMINDERS

If you are considering registering as a childminder, as the new school term gets underway, help is at hand.

The Isle of Wight Council's Early Years Service is running an information evening, on 9 September, at Thompson House on Sandy Lane, Newport.  It will take place between 7 and 9pm.   On 1 September, new government guidelines come into force for registered childminders.  A childminder is classed as someone who looks after one or more children under the age of eight for more than two hours a day on a domestic premises  For more information, email the Childminding Development Coordinator Ruth Carter at ruth.carter@iow.gov.uk.
