CONSULTATION PERIOD FOR ISLE OF WIGHT FOOD SECTOR

Today (Tuesday 8 September) sees the launch of an Island wide consultation process of the Food Sector and the opportunity to win £250 of SCATS (Isle of Wight) vouchers.

The South East Food Group Partnership has asked the Economic Partnership to map the activity of food growers and producers and their supply chains in order to provide a complete overview of this important sector. Sharon McNally, owner of Sharon Orchard was the first to complete the survey.

The survey, which will be sent out to Island farmers, growers, producers, food processors and wholesalers on 9 September, is not long or onerous with responses required only to the individual business activity. All completed surveys submitted by 30 September will be entered in to a draw to win £250 of vouchers to be spent in SCATS (Isle of Wight).

Henriette Reinders, Managing Director of South East Food Group said “we’re very pleased the Economic Partnership has agreed to help us, they are best placed to carry out this consultation but we do need the support of the food sector in completion of the survey to get a well balanced and up to date picture.”

Any business from the food sector which has not received their questionnaire should contact Carlene Williams at the Economic Partnership on 535819 or visit www.iwep.com. Closing date for surveys to be included in this consultation process is 30 September 2009.
