BOGUS SALES WARNING FOR ISLE OF WIGHT

Police on the Isle of Wight are issuing a warning about bogus cold callers who have been claiming to sell products on behalf of the force.

Sales calls have been made to homes and businesses, offering diaries on behalf of the emergency service.  Hampshire Constabulary says it does not produce or sell pocket-sized diaries for local shops.  Isle of Wight Crime Prevention Officer Michala Bailey said, "Anyone who receives a call like this should try to remember as much as they can about the bogus caller, and the details they give you over the phone. This information can prove vital to police in identifying and catching offenders.
