BIRTH STORY WITH A SNOW-BOUND DIFFERENCE

“What started as a nightmare, turned out to be perfect.  It made our day.”

A 4x4 rescue by Island police allowed an expectant dad to witness the birth of his second child, despite snow-bound conditions. Helen Bonner, 23, from Lake, went into labour in the early hours of 7 January.  She was transferred to hospital by medics in a 4 x 4 vehicle, but there wasn’t enough room for dad-to-be Scott Greenland, 25.  Midwives called for help and a police 4 x 4 vehicle transported him to St Mary’s in time to see the birth of 7lb Bailey Greenland.
