A new book will be launched in Bembridge, today.
The Guards Brigade in the Crimea reveals the conditions, ill-preparedness and inadequate equipment faced by those including the 3rd Grenadier Guards, 1st Coldstream Guards and 1st Scots Fusilier Guards. Former Grenadier Guard turned author Michael Springman lives on the Island and is also the author of Sharpshooter in the Crimea (P&S 2005).
