Ryde’s Appley Park is the proud winner of a prestigious new Green Flag award.
Similar to the Blue Flags which grace well kept beaches, tough criteria are applied to parks hoping to fly a Green Flag. It includes good and safe access, clear signage, being clean and well maintained, and access to drinking water and public toilets. Appley Park which runs behind the popular Appley Beach, was landscaped by Humphrey Repton in 1798.
