APPEAL FOR WITNESS AFTER DISPUTE IN EAST COWES

Police are appealing for a potential witness to come forward after a report of a dispute in East Cowes, Isle of Wight.

An investigation is continuing into an allegation that a woman aged in her 20s and a man aged in his 30s were involved in a confrontation and assault outside an address in Clarence Road, East Cowes at approximately 8.45pm on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

PC Richard Taylor of Hampshire Constabulary’s Isle of Wight Targeted Patrol Teams (TPT) said: “We are attempting to identify a second woman who is reported to have seen the dispute. Officers have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area already. There is no clear description of this potential witness yet, but it is believed she has information that could be useful to ongoing enquiries. I’m appealing for this woman or anyone who was in the Clarence Road area of East Cowes between 8.30pm and 9.00pm on Saturday, October 3 to contact police.”
