APPEAL AFTER 90-YEAR-OLD PEDESTRIAN INJURED IN SANDOWN

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 90-year-old pedestrian was injured in an apparent collision in Sandown, Isle of Wight.

The woman was on the pavement in the High Street, Sandown near Mapes Bakery at approximately 11.20am on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

It’s alleged she was involved in a collision with a mobility scooter driven by a man aged in his 70s.

The woman from Essex was taken to hospital to be treated for serious, but not life threatening injuries.

The man on the scooter was described as an elderly man with white hair in his 70s.

Police would like to hear from anyone who might have witnessed this collision or who was in Sandown High Street between 11.20am and 11.40am on Tuesday morning (July 21).
