Freshwater’s Avenue Support Centre for mental health marks its 10th anniversary, today.
Run by the IW Council and the Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust, the milestone will be marked with a day of celebrations. Council Leader, Cllr David Pugh will officially mark the event, alongside High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Alan Titchmarsh, who’ll open a new workshop and an improved section of garden. The centre runs projects and activities designed to help restore client’s confidence and self-esteem, while providing an opportunity to re-learn and develop new skills. Staff work with people who have severe depression, bi-polar disorder, strokes and brain injuries.
