A 44 tonne aid lorry is making its way to Romania, after this year’s successful Isle of Wight shoebox appeal.
The IW Rotary Club says more than 2,300 boxes were filled and (combined with other donations) they were able to send a lorry to eastern Europe in time for Christmas. The vehicle left Newport on 29 November and was expected to take 6 days. Three Rotarians will be flying out on 4 December, to help to distribute the aid.
