An estimated annual shortfall of more than 1500 affordable homes is one of the issues being tackled by a new five year plan.
The Isle of Wight Council has been setting out how it plans to tackle homelessness. The document will also attempt to meet targets, including the annual provision of 180 new affordable homes and will commitment the authority to bringing into use 100 empty properties this year. The council also promises to offer advice to people in danger of losing their homes.
