Wight Christmas in store?

Christmas may still be four weeks away, but the latest meteorology statistics suggest the Island may at last be set for the fabled white Christmas.

Data from the offices of the Metcheck weather company predicts a 65% chance of snow falling or being on the ground already during the 24 hours of Christmas Day. The last official white Christmas in the UK was 2004, and while it is a rare event anywhere in the country, for it to occur on the Island in particular – which has seen very little snow in previous years – truly would make it a magical Christmas.
