People campaigning against plans to change education on the Isle of Wight are planning to gather in Newport on Saturday, for the last of three protests. Accompanied by a samba band, they will be making their voices heard in St Thomas' Square. The IW Council's considering closing a number of local high schools, in favour of new learning centres. It is also planninng to extend middle schools by a year in a bid to improve results. Organisers say they're expecting new IW Council leader Cllr David Pugh and Cabinet Member Alan Wells to attend.
