A 35 year old woman has become the first quadriplegic to sail around the Isle of Wight. Hilary Lister from Kent successfully made the record books two years ago, after crossing the English Channel. This week, she added the circumnavigation of the Island to her achievements, on board the 20 ft racer ‘Me Too’. Using the ‘sip and puff’ method of breathing down straws to steer her yacht and adjust the sails, she completed the route in 11 hours. She is now hoping to sail around Britain.
