Popworld tour sails to the Island

A top class music event is set to wow islanders next month as the Popworld Promotes “The Music They Should Play On The Radio” Tour comes to Ryde. The event will host an array of exceptional unsigned music talent and will also be featured on the newly launched Popworld Radio, which broadcasts through the channel 4 website.

Taking place on Friday the 10th November, the tour – sponsored by legenrdary fashion line Lambretta – features four of the best cutting edge acts on the UK music scene. Headlining is one of the most notorious bands in recent years, THE OTHERS. Outspoken and controversial, these boys are the absolute darlings of the ‘indie kids’ and unbelievable performers live. Winner of the John Peel award for musical innovation, this London/Brighton quartet are back with a second album under their belt, 'Inward Parts', co-produced by Dave Allen (The Cure, Depeche Mode, Sisters Of Mercy) and Mark Ralph (Filthy Dukes, Suicide Sports Club). This is a band you cannot ignore.

Joining The Others at The Venue in Ryde are the brilliant DUSTIN’S BAR MITZVAH, who are creating a stir with their eclectic blend of punky rock pop; local heroes PLUSHY EDWARDS who have been winning over scores of fans with their high energy indie; and island favourite PUZZLE MUTESON, opening the night with a catchy blend of acoustic folk. The night will be closed by DJ Big Bird, set to being a unique blend of tunes exclusively for the Isle of Wight.

The event is a joined music initiative brought across the Solent from ‘Popworld Promotes’, one of the biggest multi-media music initiatives for new music talent, and ‘Curious Generation’, top music promotions company. Together they are providing the perfect platform to showcase the best of their bands and venues across the country and help put mind-blowing new UK talent on the map and in the spotlight. Further information on these two cutting edge music companies can be found at their respective websites: www.popworldpromotes.com, and www.curiousgeneration.com.

The event kicks off at 7.30pm on Friday the 10th November, with tickets just £6 in advance and £9 on the door. Tickets are available via the box office on 01159129000, or by logging on to www.popworldpromotes.com.
