Passion at Brighstone
by Chris Goodman
The event was a resounding success and reports have
estimated that there were in the region of 1000 people on
the day. The weather was good and everything went without
a hitch although there were some last minute adrenaline
rushes in the background.
Everyone who came said what a wonderful experience, and
how moving, the whole thing was. "Like turning back the clock 2000 years!"
Unfortunately, (just like it probably was originally)
not everybody could see everything, but Derick Stevenson, the Director wanted to make this as true to the original event as
possible without the Hollywood "Glitz" effect and I think this was definitely achieved. For a small village like Brighstone it was truly awesome and a wonderful witness, for in a sense, it put the truth back into Easter. As stated in the programme, the real story of
Easter has, for some, been lost within the pages of a book. What
was achieved was a spectacular presentation for all to see and
which will be remembered for some time to come.
We had so much incredible help. To all who helped and assisted, the cast, the musicians and choir, the marshalls, the firms and
individuals that helped a very big "thank you". All help was so much appreciated and enabled this successful production to be enjoyed by so many.
