Following many months of building work and a £500,000 investment, the flagship restaurant of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight’s only Hospitality and Catering Centre of Vocational Excellence has opened at Albert Cottage Hotel in East Cowes.

The newly refurbished restaurant and bar will offer clients the opportunity to experience fine dining at its best. Under the guidance of Head Chef, Steve Shakeshaft and Restaurant and Bar Manager David Whitmore students from the Hotel’s own Scholarship training programme alongside students from the Isle of Wight College are now offering meals six nights per week and Sunday lunch which is already proving very popular.

Albert Cottage was purchased in 1853 by Prince Albert and was later used by Princess Beatrice, Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter.

Rachael Fidler from Albert Cottage says, “The concept of the new bar and restaurant is a fusion of modern and traditional Victorian. Feedback from customers who have eaten in the restaurant has been excellent so far.”
