Hello, it’s Chris Hughes again from the Park Centre, High Park Road, Ryde, letting you know what is happening during July.
After earlier successful Art sessions, and the tutor’s holiday, the Art Group restarts for July, with extended hours, Thursdays 9;30 – 11;30. Attendance still remains free of charge with no cost for materials.
Free Adult Carnival Workshops commence in July, on Mondays 9;30 – 12;00, to help adults learn new skills, and how to pass these on to other adults and children, during the school holidays. More details about these family holiday sessions will appear in the next press release.
We have several people interested in attending sewing classes, but unfortunately at this time, the proposed teacher is unable to commence with the classes. Can anyone help and offer to deliver the sessions? Even for the short time in her absence. If you can, please contact Chris or Barry on 611913.
The Introduction to Computer and Digital Imaging sessions will continue on Monday and Wednesday mornings throughout the summer.
The Park Cafe is open daily from 12;00 – 4;00 for teas, coffees and lunches but volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen. We are also looking for volunteers to be trained to help with a weekly youth club, planned for the Autumn.
The Park Centre will be undergoing some alterations in the autumn, which will enable us to provide more facilities, and increase our range of activities, providing a games room, meeting room and an area for child care. We will endeavour to continue with our activities throughout the duration of the work. The main hall will not be affected by these works and remains available for private hire at a nominal charge. For more information telephone 611913 or just drop in.
