Isle of Wight Economic Partnership Announces Entrepreneur Paul Rudling as New Chairman
Paul has been a Board member of the IWEP since March 1999, championing the development of the composites sector and skills development for the industry. As Chairman of the IWEP, Mr Rudling will be taking a special interest in developing the technology and skills base of Island businesses and particularly encouraging businesses to concentrate on increasing productivity in line with the recommendations of the emerging economic strategy. Paul commented, “I believe one of the primary ways to generate new prosperity for the Island is to grow our own knowledge and technology based businesses – we need to make sure the Isle of Wight strives to be leading the field.”
As a fellow of the Institute of Materials and of the Royal Society of Art, Paul is also very keen on promoting excellence in design for all aspects of the development on the Island.”
Paul takes over from outgoing Chairman of five years, Danny Fisher MBE, DL. Mr Fisher has taken a keen interest in the IWEP and particularly the Cowes Waterfront initiative which he championed from the very start almost 4½ years ago. Danny says, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the past five years and will continue to sit on the IWEP Board. I am pleased to hand over the baton to Paul; he has extensive commercial experience and is committed to the Island for both lifestyle and business reasons. I have every confidence that he will continue the momentum and bring new ideas and expertise to the Island’s economy.”
