IW AUTHOR'S MAKING OF THE WIGHT SIGNING
The IW Beacon’s John Medland will be signing extracts from his new book which traces the history of the Isle of Wight, on Saturday. The Making of the Wight runs from the Ice Age to the space-rocket programme and is a collection of the events that have helped shape the Island and its people. Also containing extracts from the Beacon’s ‘Island Story’ series, it hit the shelves of Island bookshops on Thursday. John Medland (pictured) says, “It’s been a real pleasure writing this book, discovering some new and fascinating insights into Island history and meeting such interesting people while carrying out my research”. He will be at the County Press Shop in Newport, between 10am-12pm.
