ISLAND ROTARY CLUB SUPPORTS CYCLONE-HIT BANGLADESH
Thousands were killed and tens of thousands affected when, earlier this month, a devastating cyclone swept across Bangladesh. An aid effort is being supported by Island’s Rotary Club and the fundraisers need our help.
They are hoping to provide lifesaving Aquaboxes, which cost £50 each and consist of a robust plastic tank, water purification tablets and other essential welfare items. Each kit will purify up to 1100 litres of polluted water, making it safe to drink. It makes around 5000 cups and is enough for a family of four, for about four months.
