The Island’s lack of NHS Dental Care has at last turned into something to smile about, according to the Island’s MP. Andrew Turner says he has been told that the backlog of patients awaiting treatment has now been cleared and some NHS places are now available for new patients. The Chief Executive of the Isle of Wight Primary Care Trust Ed Macalister-Smith has written to Mr Turner to confirm the news. The MP says, “The Island’s Primary Care Trust is to be congratulated…I have criticised them in the past for not achieving targets so I want to be the first to recognise the work they have done in tackling the huge backlog of Islanders who needed NHS dental care.”
