The Leader of the IW Council has resigned. The shock move was announced at a full council meeting at County Hall, on Wednesday night. It is understood to have come after a row over a planning application concerning the Craven Croft Hotel in Shanklin. Andy Sutton will remain a councillor and is pledging to support the new leadership headed up by 26-year-old Councillor David Pugh. For unconnected reasons, Deputy Leader Cllr Patrick Joyce and Cabinet Member Cllr Melanie Swan have also stepped down.
