HARRY-POTTER-ALIKES MAKE BANK HOLIDAY MAGIC
Following the release of Harry’s Potter’s seventh and final adventure, earlier this year, there’s a chance to follow in the footsteps of the boy wizard. Two Island attractions are hosting days dedicated to young Mr Potter, this bank holiday weekend.
At Appuldurcombe House, near Shanklin, there’s a chance to meet Harry and the owls. The house has its own falconry centre, complete with its very own Hedwigs (PICTURED). Organisers say that if you dress up like Harry Ron and Hermione, you could win yourself a prize! More details here http://www.appuldurcombe.co.uk/house.html.
Meanwhile at Havenstreet Steam Railway the 33rd annual Island Steam Show starts today (Friday) and runs until Monday. On Sunday and Monday, Harry, Hagrid and Dumbldore will join the crowds to see the Hogwarts-style steam trains. Organisers are also promising traction engines and steam lorries, classic and vintage cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles and the Real Ale Festival. It’s open from 10am each day and you can get more details at http://www.iwsteamrailway.co.uk/
