GOVERNMENT TO PUT STAMP ON ISLAND POST OFFICES
The future of the Island’s post offices is expected to be fixed, on Tuesday. The Government will make an announcement on which branches are to close, under nationwide cuts. It must ensure that 95% of people in rural areas are no less than 3 miles from a post office. Any branches earmarked for closure will have until
27 November to put together an appeal, through the Rural Community Council.
