FOOT AND MOUTH PRECAUTIONS ROLLED OUT ON THE ISLAND
The IW Council’s taking new foot and mouth precautions in response to the Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs declaring Hampshire a foot and mouth risk area. Mats soaked in disinfectant are being rolled out at Island ferry ports. We’re being reminded that the mats don’t provide a significant protection against the disease but they are a visual reminder of the need to be vigilant about Foot and Mouth. There are no cases of foot and mouth either in Hampshire or on the Island which remains a low risk area according to DEFRA.
